Mali Water Project
The Mali Water Project is a multidisciplinary service-learning course in the College of Engineering at the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign. The Mali Water Project is working with Konilo-Coura, a village in Mali, West Africa to bring sustainable solutions to the water access and quality needs of the community.
Mali Water Project was established in Spring 2010 with the objective of developing a sustainable, clean water supply system for the village of Konilo-Coura, Mali. The project was the ideation of Dr. Osee Sanago, a post-doctorate research associate in the Department of Animal Biology who is originally from Konilo-Coura. The project functions through a unique collaboration between a service-learning course, which is offered as ENG 315 LINC (Learning in the Community), and the Mali Water Project student organization.
